About the event
#Ourworkofart2019 is a wonderful project sharing creativity with older people many of whom live with dementia. Some of our wonderful volunteers have done training with Altzimers Society to become Dementia Champions which means they can run short fun information sessions for people to become Dementia Friends.
This workshop is designed to use fun games and chat to learn more about Dementia and how to communicate and help someone living with dementia. Â This is great for all children to understand and learn about older people but especially good for children who may have older relatives, family friends or neighbours living with Dementia.Â
The session lasts 1 hour. Parents can sign a consent form to leave their child. Â Take the time to enjoy a child free hour having coffee and home made cakes in our coffee shop whilst you wait! Â Each child will get a Dementia Friends forget-me-knott badge.
We will be running adult Dementia Friends information sessions in future, contact Catherine@espression.co.uk to find out more.
